Ozwater’24 is the largest water conference and exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere, run annually by the Australian Water Association (AWA) and proudly sponsored by Fulton Hogan, our Education Partner.
The aim of this event is to showcase the important, exciting and boundless opportunities in water to inspire our future water workforce.
University Students Undergraduate Career Day

Program: 10:00am – 3:30pm
This free experience provides an opportunity to:
- Hear keynotes from Lee Revell (CEO - Utilities, Fulton Hogan) and Young Water Professionals
- Learn more about Careers in Water
- Engage in Panels and Q&A’s from Deakin University
- Hear from the Student Water Prize Paper Winners
- Free lunch will be included from 12:00 -1:00pm
- A guided tour of the Exhibition by Young Water Professionals
- Meet water professionals from across the sector
- Win a 1-year student membership to the AWA
The challenges of more extreme weather impacting water availability will only continue.
The shortage of skills and human resources now and into the future is also critical.
Factors include:
- Population growth, an ageing workforce and movement of people following Covid
- Significant infrastructure investment across the sector and urbanisation impacting many competing industries
- Evolving technology and innovations
New skills must be incorporated to align with the future needs of the water sector, paving the way for exciting career opportunities.
Registration will also give students free access to the Exhibition Hall housing over 200 companies showcasing their businesses and students will have the opportunity to discuss a range of exciting career pathways.
